Brisbane artist, Julie Rees (b.1977) merges the real and unreal by creating work that is inspired by personal or collective experiences. Her choice of medium varies depending on the subject, but photography and drawing are integral to her artistic process. Through her art, she endeavours to gain fresh perspectives by exploring personal and shared experiences through an alternative lens.
Julie Rees holds a Doctor of Visual Arts from Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia, and has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. Her work is included in several collections.
