Kissing Toads II (2016) is a video-based work that intends to highlight the waxing and waning effects of desire in online dating. It draws from real women reflecting on their online dating experiences and subtly questions the foundations of romantic ideals from individuals living in the Brisbane area. By integrating video and sound, the work invites the viewer to consider the potential consequences of desire when searching for love and commitment online and intends to raise awareness of the risks of disappointment and to be mindful of the romantic ideals generationally embedded.
